Eight-week structured Mindfulness Now programme. Before commencing the programme, you will be sent a client intake form for basic information about the classes and to briefly answer a few questions – ideally these should be sent back filled in and signed before the classes commence.
The purpose is for you to learn and practice mindfulness meditation in a group. Each of the eight-weekly sessions provides an opportunity for further practice and learning and lasts generally around two hours. Home practice is also required. There is sound scientific evidence that mindfulness, particularly when practiced over a period of eight weeks or more, can help to avoid depression, as well as reducing anxiety, stress, and panic symptoms. It can also promote wellbeing and resilience. It is important to say that this is not “group therapy”.
You will be encouraged to participate in some informal discussion, but this is focussed on responses to the mindfulness practices experienced in the session as well as how attendees are getting on with mindfulness practice in between classes.
- No pressure is ever put upon any attendees to speak.
- There will also be a Mindfulness gift day offered weather permitting and in line with current government restrictions due to the COVID pandemic. (there may be an opportunity to do an online gift day depending on individual feedback from each group).
- Gift days are free for you to give the self-care you deserve!
